I cloned the agenda of the Catania Hackfest and I cut it down to 10 days to get the agenda of the WACREN e-Research Hackfest:
The timetable can be ispected at this link.
@Omo.Oaiya, @OwenIyoha_52c6, Benjamin and Sola: please login on http://agenda.ct.infn.it and confirm back so that I can add you as managers of the above event. All the others already have modification privileges.
From the applications we already got and from those submitted in June by the 10 people from Nigeria who couldn’t come to Catania, can we already understand if all presentations listed in the first 2 days are actually needed? In other words, do we need to keep the presentations on Kepler, Ophidia, Onedata and the INDIGO PaaS? Those lectures will only be available as video-recordings.
I would add in the first 2 days (or at the beginning of the 3rd day) presentations from Ade and from Benjamin/Sola about the Infection Model with REPAST and the MIPAR portal, respectively. These presentations can be shown as very good examples of what can be done using the services of the Sci-GaIA Open Science platform. Mario could also briefly present (or, network permitting, even demonstrate) the other use cases: the PHG portal, WEKA, WRF, etc.
@(Omo, Owen and Benjamin): for the pre-recorded lectures, will the network bandwidth be enough to let participants watch them live on YouTube or do you prefer to download them locally beforehand and broadcast them through the local network?
In order to minimise network transactions from Lagos to Catania and back it would be good to have a FutureGateway API server, a Science Gateway portal and other services installed locally. Those services could be used by selected candidates also after the Hackfest.
@Omo.Oaiya, @OwenIyoha_52c6, Benjamin and Sola: do you have access to any local infrastructure where we could deploy those services before the start of the Hackfest?
