From an email discussion I had with @dmakweba
I just want to import the ova image of the portal i.e.
"SOFTWARESCIGAIA-2016-004.ova". I don't know how to convert or import it in
the kvm environment. I have the machine running CentOS as host machine and
all VMs (guests) can be managed and deployed via virsh command or
virt-manager in which the images are in the format as from virtual box
images (i.e. .ova)
What is the best/easy way to import ova image in the kvm machine? I am sorry
if I didn't make myself to understand.
Hello @dmakweba ,
I googled your question and I found this article: http://edoceo.com/notabene/ova-to-vmdk-to-qcow2, I tried these steps some time ago and I managed to convert the ova file to qcow2 one.
The OVA file is just an archive that contains the virtual disk and other virtual machines properties files, so once you have extracted the virtual disk, you can convert it in a format accepted by KVM like the qcow2 for example.
Let e know if manage to import the VM.
