After the recent announcement of the deliverable describing open access repositories in the Sci-GaIA project, I'm pleased to announce that an Ansible role is coming to completion and has recently been forked to the Sci-GaIA Github organisation.
The standards-compliant pre-beta repository demonstrator - prepared by @RRicceri and @roberto_barbera - was also announced, and hosts the instructions for use of the Virtual Machine on which the demonstrator runs.
It's likely the case though that if groups or institutes wanting to build a standards-compliant Open Access Repository will need to perform heavy customisation, which is where configuration management comes into play. This Ansible role will allow you to fully customise aspects of your repository before deployment, including support services like
- web server configuration
- database configuration
- search engine
- plugins and extras
- access modes
More information can be found in the README.
The role is being continuously integrated using Travis - so keep an eye on those builds to see when it's passing !
If you would like to contribute, please fork the repo and send pull requests.
NOTE : we are not ready for user testing yet, this is just a heads-up ... All in good
